Description
The County of San Mateos Parks Department is seeking a skilled and dependable Marina Worker II to support the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of our County-owned marina. Under general supervision, this journey-level position performs variety of semi-skilled manual and maintenance tasks to preserve, protect and enhance the marina docks and infrastructure of the County marina; manage boating facilities and assist with docking and undocking of boats; conduct minor facility maintenance and dock equipment maintenance and repair; provide customer service and information to marina patrons; ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations; and perform related duties as assigned.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a waterfront environment, values public service, and is experienced in maintenance, boating operations, and safety compliance.
Marina Worker II is the fully experienced journey-level classification in the series. Incumbents perform both routine and complex maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment used in and around the County-owned marina and provide customer service and information to the public about the County marina. This position is distinguished from the Marina Worker I classification by the greater level of competency required and broader scope of responsibilities, which may include the full-time supervision of temporary employees, and guidance and training of Marina Workers I.
The ideal candidate is a safety-conscious, hands-on professional with strong maintenance skills and the ability to work effectively in a waterfront environment. They bring a combination of technical expertise, customer service experience, and sound judgment in enforcing rules and responding to dynamic situations.

All examinations will be given in San Mateo County, California and applicants must participate at their own expense.
