MacDougalls Marine Service is searching for a full time Marine Carpenter. Full time benefits, including, medical, dental, vison and 401(k) effective on date of hire. Pay is commensurate with experience ($27 - $37/hr)
Job Summary:
The Carpentry Technician/Marine Carpenter is responsible for carrying out carpentry duties as outlined by the Director of Operations. Responsibilities will include various woodworking tasks related to the construction, installation and repair of wooden boats using hand and power tools.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Perform work assigned and scheduled by Group Manager.
• Manage time effectively to complete work within time allotted.
• Maintain neat and orderly work areas, display professional and courteous behavior towards customers and fellow employees
• Maintain 100 percent safety record. Zero damage, rework or "make goods."
• Cooperate with other departments to ensure that jobs in the yard run smoothly.
• Maintain spotless and clutter free shops and sheds along with an orderly yard
environment.
• Routinely operate motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and sanitation policies
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Required Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 5 years’ experience preferred
• Previous experience with gel coat and fiberglass preferred
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and targets
• Reliable with good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize
work
• Adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment
• Must enjoy working outdoors
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must be able to swim
• Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions.
• General seamanship knowledge, boating right of ways rules, basic navigation, and inshore and
offshore mooring techniques.
• Work tasks may be performed both indoors and outdoors.

• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent walking, reaching, bending, turning, and stooping,
• Outside work for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.

• Must be comfortable using all dock equipment and materials (gas pump, boats, ropes, anchors, among others).
