    Job Summary: 
    We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrical Service Manager to lead and manage electrical service work on customer vessels. This position requires strong hands-on marine electrical experience, leadership ability, and excellent communication skills.
    Responsibilities include managing electrical technicians, diagnosing vessel electrical issues, creating work scopes and estimates, coordinating materials, communicating with customers, overseeing job quality, and ensuring all work is completed safely and professionally.
    ABYC Electrical Certification preferred. Prior service management or foreman experience is strongly preferred.
    This role requires someone who can lead technicians, communicate with captains and owners, keep jobs organized, and ensure completed work meets professional ABYC marine electrical standards.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Managing daily electrical service operations.
    • Scheduling technicians and assigning service work.
    • Reviewing incoming service requests and creating clear work scopes.
    • Inspecting vessels and diagnosing electrical issues.
    • Preparing estimates, labor projections, and material requirements.
    • Coordinating with customers, captains, project managers, and vendors.
    • Ensuring technicians have the correct parts, tools, drawings, and information before starting work.
    • Verifying that work is completed correctly and professionally.
    • Performing final inspections before jobs are closed out.
    • Maintaining accurate job notes, photos, parts lists, and service records.
    • Tracking job progress, labor hours, and material usage.
    • Helping reduce comebacks, warranty issues, and incomplete work.
    • Training and developing junior electrical technicians.
    • Enforcing safe work practices and proper electrical standards.
    • Supporting billing by clearly documenting completed wors.
     
    Qualifications:
    • Education: Minimum 5 years of Marine Electrical experience.
    • Experience: Prior leadership, foreman, or service management experience.
    • Skills: 
      • Ability to read electrical drawings and manuals.
      • Strong understanding of ABYC electrical standards.
      • Ability to manage multiple jobs at the same time.
      • Good communication and documentation skills.
      • Valid driver’s license.
      • Ability to work onboard vessels, in engine rooms, bilges, lazarettes, and tight spaces.
      • Must have own basic hand tools.
     
    Technical Requirements:
    • Shore power issues.
    • Battery charging problems.
    • Breaker trips and ground faults.
    • Inverter and charger faults.
    • Bilge pump and float switch issues.
    • Navigation light and lighting circuit problems.
    • Helm electronics power issues.
    • Generators start/stop and control wiring.
    • AC panel and DC panel issues.
    • Corrosion, bonding, and electrolysis complaints.
    • Voltage drop and load testing.
    • New equipment installations.
    • Electrical refits and upgrades.
    • Panel replacements and circuit additions.
     
    Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
    • Work is performed in a marine and industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying weather conditions.
    • Involves time spent in both an office setting and the boatyard.
    • May involve working in confined spaces, at heights, or in awkward positions.
    • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Requires the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
    • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary.
