    Role Snapshot

    Join us as a marine-focused journeyman electrician tackling AC/DC and electronic systems on medium and large commercial vessels.

    What You’ll Tackle
    • Plan installations by interpreting drawings, blueprints, schematics, and code/spec requirements.
    • Install wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, feeders, coax assemblies, lighting, and more.
    • Lay out wireways, place cable trays, and establish initial hanger runs.
    • Test equipment/components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
    • Install and service motors, generators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic/pneumatic electrical controls.
    • Maintain electrical controls associated with main propulsion units.
    • Service and validate electrohydraulic steering controls.
    • Install and calibrate industrial instrumentation when required.
    • Diagnose and correct faults across marine electrical/electromechanical systems.
    • Perform electrical fitting tasks: stud runs, cableways, controller mounts, and hardware installation.
    • Work confidently with 480V three-phase power.
    • Collaborate effectively—adapt, interpret, and solve problems as a team.
    • Handle additional related duties as needed.
    What You Bring
    • Ability to read specs, drawings, and blueprints and align work with contract and schedule requirements.
    • Familiar with shipyard safety, vessel terminology, and use of scissor/boom lifts.
    • Comfort in confined spaces and indoor/outdoor environments in changing weather.
    • Solid basic math skills.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 3+ years as a General Maintenance Worker (or similar) with marine electrical maintenance/repair experience.
    • 2–3 years of experience on electrical systems.
    • Valid WA State driver’s license.
    Bonus Points
    • Marine Electrician background
    • Journeyman Electrical Card (WA 01) with industrial experience
    • Knowledge of applicable NAVSEA Standard Items
    • OSHA 10 certification
    • NFPA 70E training
    • Understanding of IEEE 45 and relevant CFR requirements for electrical installation
    • Forklift and manlift certifications/experience
    • Drive to step into future crew leadership roles

    • Electrical schematics and schematic reading
    • 120/208/240/480 VAC systems
    • Electrical installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair
    • Electrical/electronic systems, including heavy equipment diagnostics
    • IEEE 45 and NFPA 70E
