The New Orleans Paddlewheels - Creole Queen , an authentic Paddlewheel, powered by a 24 foot diameter paddlewheel and the most modern, fuel efficient diesel-electric system ever installed in a boat of this class is now hiring a Marine Engineer, Full-time and Part-time.  The Creole Queen cruises daily, which allows you to be home every night!

SIGN-ON BONUS:  $10,000 --- $2,500 after 30 days, $2,500 after 90 days, and $5,000 after 6 months


Job Purpose: 


  • To maintain, operate, and repair all vessel electrical and mechanical systems
Qualification/Education/Skills:


  • U.S. Coast Guard Licensed (2000 H.P.) with a minimum of 2 years Engineering experience
  • Preferred experience with Diesel Electric (SCR)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of all maritime rules and regulations
  • Must possess working knowledge of vessel, and be able to maintain equipment in all areas of vessel
  • Professional dress and demeanor
Essential Functions: 


  • Overseeing and maintaining all vessel systems
  • Performing preventative maintenance program on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Keeping vessel maintenance records, inventories, accounting reports, and requisitions
  • Conducting periodic inspections to ensure the crew is observing all U.S. Coast Guard and safety regulations
  • Making safe and rational decisions concerning vessel operation and maintenance
  • Recognizing unsafe conditions on vessel
Work Environment:


  • Interior and exterior of vessel, exposed to extreme weather
  • Transitioning from deck to deck via stairs
  • Cramped machinery spaces, including rotating equipment 
Physical Requirements: 


  • Standing and sitting - up to 12 hours per day
  • Lifting up to 100 lbs., bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing more than 5 times per hour/shift
  • Acute hearing and vision
  • Must be able to pass U.S. Coast Guard physical and drug screen (Pre-Employment and Random)
