Job Summary
The Marine Install Foreman is responsible for leading, coordinating, and executing the physical installation of marine fire protection and safety systems. This role supervises installation crews on-site, ensures projects are completed safely and on schedule, and guarantees that all installations strictly comply with design specifications, US Coast Guard (USCG) codes, and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise on-site installation crews, coordinating daily tasks and managing workflow to meet project deadlines.
- Oversee the complete installation of marine fire suppression, detection, and life safety systems in accordance with USCG, ABS, and NFPA codes.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, system design drawings, and technical specifications to guide the installation process.
- Coordinate with project managers, shipyard representatives, vessel crew, and marine surveyors to ensure smooth project execution and address any field changes.
- Enforce strict safety standards on the job site, including conducting daily safety briefings (toolbox talks) and ensuring proper PPE compliance.
- Perform quality control inspections on all installed piping, wiring, and equipment prior to system commissioning and final testing.
- Complete and submit daily progress reports, timesheets, change orders, and other required project documentation via digital applications or paper forms.
- Manage customer expectations and maintain professional, positive relationships with shipyard personnel and vessel owners.
