We have an exciting opportunity for a Marine Insulator position in Norfolk, Virginia!
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience as a Marine Insulator
Must have verifiable experience working with sound dampening tile
Must have experience working with rubber, kalo, fiberglass, pads, and haul boards
Must have OSHA 10 certification
Must be eligible for DBIDS access
Must have ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
Install, remove, repair, and replace acoustic and thermal insulation on piping, machinery, bulkheads, overheads, and ventilation systems aboard ships and submarines
Fabricate and install sound dampening tiles, removable insulation pads, blankets, and lagging systems
Measure, cut, fit, and secure insulation materials including rubber, kalo, fiberglass, mineral wool, calcium silicate, and foam-based products
Apply vapor barriers, jacketing, banding, pins, adhesives, and sealants according to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specifications
Perform work in confined spaces, at heights, and in active shipyard environments
Schedule:
6am-1:30pm Monday-Friday
Must be flexible to work OT and weekends as needed
Pay:
$24-25/hour based on experience
