    Marine Operations Supervisor

    Location: Tacoma, Washington

    Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Marine Repair Supervisor to lead day-to-day ship repair operations in Tacoma. This hands-on role is responsible for supervising commercial vessel repair projects, coordinating field teams, subcontractors, and resources, while ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to a high standard.

    The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for customers, vessel crews, and internal teams, overseeing project execution, workforce planning, and operational performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise commercial vessel repair projects from planning through completion.
    • Coordinate labor, subcontractors, materials, tooling, and equipment.
    • Review drawings, specifications, and work scopes to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Monitor project schedules, labor hours, quality, and costs.
    • Support estimating, planning, and change order management.
    • Maintain strong relationships with customers and provide regular project updates.
    • Lead and develop field personnel while promoting a strong safety culture.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, customer, and company safety standards.
    • Support business development by identifying new opportunities and maintaining customer relationships.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in commercial ship repair, shipyard operations, or marine construction.
    • Previous supervisory experience leading multi-trade marine repair projects.
    • Strong knowledge of ship repair processes, mechanical systems, and vessel maintenance.
    • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
    • Experience with project planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost control.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as project requirements dictate.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Technical, marine engineering, or construction management qualification.
    • Experience in welding, mechanical, piping, structural, or electrical marine trades.
    • Experience working in both union and non-union environments.
