Description
Elite Workforce LLC is seeking experienced Marine Structural Fitters for shipyard projects. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of shipyard experience performing structural fitting, layout, and assembly of steel components for marine vessels and offshore structures. Candidates must be able to read blueprints, interpret marine specifications, and perform fit-up work in accordance with shipyard quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret shipbuilding drawings, blueprints, work packages, and structural specifications.
Lay out, position, align, and fit structural steel components including hull sections, bulkheads, decks, foundations, frames, stiffeners, and brackets.
Measure, mark, and verify dimensions using tape measures, squares, levels, and other precision measuring tools.
Perform fit-up operations in preparation for welding and fabrication.
Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and other fitting equipment safely and effectively.
Ensure structural assemblies meet required tolerances, alignment, and quality standards.
Work closely with welders, supervisors, and quality control personnel to complete assigned tasks.
Assist with repairs, modifications, and new construction projects as required.
Follow all company, customer, and shipyard safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Marine Structural Fitter, Shipfitter, or Structural Fitter in a shipyard environment.
Ability to read and understand marine blueprints, structural drawings, and welding symbols.
Strong knowledge of shipbuilding and steel fabrication processes.
Experience fitting structural steel components to precise specifications.
Ability to safely operate common fitting and fabrication tools.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with commercial, military, or offshore vessel construction and repair.
Tack welding experience.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Rigging, signal person, or forklift experience.
Familiarity with ABS, NAVSEA, Coast Guard, or other marine industry standards.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
Ability to stand and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
