Key Responsibilities
Ensure vetting approvals are maintained and vessels are adequately prepared for inspections. Support Masters with vetting preparations, debriefings, and follow-up of observations. Analyze inspection results, identify trends, and recommend performance improvements. Conduct vessel visits, audits (navigation, mooring, cargo, behavioral), and crew competency assessments. Investigate marine, cargo, and navigational incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions. Monitor compliance with alcohol and drug testing programs. Oversee cost control, maintenance, and budgeting for assigned vessels and equipment. Manage dry dock preparations, tendering, supervision, and delivery within budget and timeframe. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance, documentation, and efficient operations. Contribute to crew recruitment, training, and appraisals. Assess risks at ports/terminals and provide guidance on safe operations and cargo handling. Ensure compliance with international regulations, SMS, and industry best practices. Follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely implementation across the fleet.
Qualifications
Captain Class A License. Minimum 5 years' sea experience on tanker/chemical vessels, including at least 3 years as senior deck officer. Strong command of English (written and spoken). Proficient in IT systems and software applications. Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills. Up-to-date knowledge of international regulations and marine industry developments.
