    Company Overview

Flux Marine is a marine technology start-up designing and manufacturing high-performance electric outboard propulsion systems. Our technology is built from the ground up for marine applications including commercial, recreational, defense, and other marine markets.

Based at our headquarters in Bristol, Rhode Island, Flux Marine combines engineering, manufacturing, and hands-on marine expertise to develop and deploy the next generation of electric marine propulsion.

    Job Overview

Flux Marine is seeking a Marine Systems Technician to join our team and support the integration of Flux electric propulsion systems into a variety of vessels.

The primary responsibility of this role is systems integration: installing Flux outboards, high-voltage battery systems, controls, electrical components, and supporting equipment into new and existing boats. The Marine Systems Technician will work closely with our engineering, service, and marine operations teams to take vessels from initial integration through commissioning and on-water testing.

This is a hands-on role well suited for someone with experience in marine rigging, electrical systems, boatbuilding, automotive systems, or a similar technical trade. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, solving problems in the field, and producing clean, reliable, professional-quality installations.

    • Fabricate mounting plates, brackets, panels, cable supports, and other components required for vessel integrations

    • Read and follow electrical diagrams, installation drawings, schematics, and work instructions

    • Work with engineering to identify and resolve integration challenges

    • Maintain a high standard of workmanship, organization, and installation quality

    • Document installations and provide feedback to improve integration procedures and work instructions

    Testing & Marine Operations

    • Support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and functional testing

    • Assist with dockside and on-water testing of completed vessels

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and vessel system issues

    • Support vessel maintenance, repairs, and service work as needed

    • Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and integration work areas

    • Assist with general shop and marine operations as required

    Required Qualifications

    • Hands-on experience in the marine, automotive, electrical, mechanical, boatbuilding, or similar technical field

    • Experience with electrical wiring, fabrication, assembly, installation, or rigging

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability

    • Ability to safely and confidently use common hand and power tools

    • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions

    • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on clean, organized, professional-quality work

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous marine rigging, boatbuilding, or marine systems installation experience

    • Experience with high-voltage or electric vehicle systems

    • American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and/or National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) certifications

    • Welding, CNC, soldering, machining, fiberglass/composites, or fabrication experience

    • Experience installing marine electronics and navigation equipment

    • Experience troubleshooting CAN bus or networked marine electronics

    • Experience operating, trailering, launching, and hauling boats

    • Experience safely operating powerboats, including docking, maneuvering, and general on-water operation

    • Familiarity with common boatyard practices and equipment

    • Passion for boating, marine technology, and electric propulsion

    Company Culture

At Flux Marine, we are focused on building safe, reliable, high-performance electric propulsion systems that improve the boating experience.

Our team works in a highly collaborative environment where employees have the opportunity to contribute directly to the products and boats we put on the water. This role offers significant hands-on exposure to emerging marine technology and the opportunity to work alongside engineers, technicians, customers, boatbuilders, and integration partners.

We are looking for motivated, hands-on people who take pride in their work, enjoy solving technical problems, and want to help shape the future of marine propulsion.
