    Job Description

Join a team that turns precision into possibility

At Inovar Packaging Group, we’re driven by customers and powered by collaboration. We continually invest in advanced flexographic and digital technology—because when our teams have the right tools, they deliver labels and packaging that set the standard.

    Your mission

As a Mark Andy Performance Series P4 operator, you’ll transform specs into flawless finished goods. You’ll own color consistency and registration, keep the press running safely and efficiently, and ensure every order ships on time and to spec.

    Imagine this scenario

A complex, multi‑color pressure‑sensitive label hits your queue. You review the ticket, select the anilox lineup, mount plates, stage inks and dies, and thread the substrate. On the first pull, you check density and dot structure, tune registration, and settle into production. A slight color drift appears—you correct it before it leaves spec. You document results, coordinate with Quality, and hand off to Finishing with confidence.

    Core responsibilities

    • Independently run a Mark Andy P4 narrow‑web flexographic press to meet customer specifications, production schedules, and quality targets.
    • Execute complete make‑ready: plate mounting, anilox and ink setup, die setup, substrate selection, and efficient job changeovers.
    • Maintain registration and color throughout the run; verify finished goods meet all requirements.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve misregistration, color variation, ink coverage issues, dot gain, die‑cut problems, and web handling challenges.
    • Optimize press performance with timely adjustments that increase uptime and reduce waste.
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance and cleaning; keep the area organized.
    • Complete accurate production and quality records; comply with safety, quality, GMP, and company procedures.
    • Collaborate with Scheduling, Prepress, Quality, Finishing, and Maintenance to ensure seamless flow.
    • Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.

    Work schedule

    • 2nd shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
    • 3rd shift: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • At least 3 years of narrow‑web flexographic press operation.
    • Knowledge spanning plate mounting, anilox selection, ink systems, UV curing, color matching, registration, die cutting, and lamination.
    • Independent troubleshooting of print quality and mechanical issues.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read job orders/specs, and meticulous attention to detail.

    Preferred

    • Experience with Mark Andy Performance Series (P4, P5, P7, P9).
    • Background in pressure‑sensitive label production.
    • UV flexo and color management experience.
    • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure.

    Physical requirements

    • Ability to stand for long periods and frequently bend, twist, push, and reach.
    • Lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Accurate color perception.
    • Comfort working around moving equipment while wearing required PPE.

    Success profile

You take ownership of machine performance, protect safety and quality, minimize downtime and waste, anticipate issues, and collaborate across functions. You pair technical mastery with accountability and a continuous improvement mindset.
