About the role

Responsibilities:

• Ensures overall goals for production and underwriting profitability are met by analyzing premium rates, loss experience, and retention. Monitors the mix of business in assigned state(s), identifying changes in the mix and reasons for those changes.
• Develops assigned state(s) business profit and growth strategies and translates business ideas and market opportunities into new product ideas by researching and maintaining awareness of all major competitors'' current market positions (i.e., rates, service levels, financial positions and operating strategies), business directions, financial dynamics, and new technologies.
• Communicates and coordinates key profit metrics; develops working relationships with Accounting, Actuarial, Claims, and Customer Service.

Application Timeline:

We know waiting can be difficult, so we want to set expectations upfront. Our internship recruiting process takes place over several months. Applications open in mid-September and are reviewed as they are received. HR interviews are expected to begin in mid-October, followed by interviews with hiring leaders. Depending on the role and applicant volume, hiring decisions and offers may be made anytime from October through January. We appreciate your patience throughout the process and will communicate updates as they become available.

Do you have what we're looking for?

• Pursuing a degree in data analytics, data engineering, actuary, or a related field.
• Must be able to work full-time hours from late May 2027 to early August 2027. The internship may be extended part-time through fall 2027 and spring 2028.
• Graduation date of August 2027 or beyond.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize work.
• Experience with data analysis tools including R, Python, MS Excel, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with general data structures and SQL
