Salary Range: $71,500 – $95,000 annually

Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Market Assistant Controller for our healthcare client in Delray Beach, Florida. This position plays a key role in supporting the accounting and financial operations for multiple hospitals within the market.
The Market Assistant Controller assists in planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Accounting Department in accordance with client policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position also supports the preparation, reporting, and maintenance of monthly financial statements for the hospital campus and provides financial support across the hospitals within the market.

This position is 100% on-site and provides support for all hospitals within the market. This is not a hybrid or remote opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Accounting Department.
• Support the preparation, reporting, and maintenance of monthly hospital financial statements.
• Provide accounting and financial support for multiple hospitals within the market.
• Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and client policies and procedures.
• Comply with all SOX 404 requirements.
• Comply with all policies and procedures pertaining to HIPAA, including minimum necessary requirements applicable to the position.
• Perform and fulfill all Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility during emergencies and/or disasters.
• Maintain knowledge of the hospital's emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to emergency preparedness and response.

Qualifications
Education

• Bachelor's degree or comparable years of relevant work experience.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of financial management experience within the healthcare field.
• Hospital or healthcare accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with financial reporting and monthly financial statements.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Experience working within a SOX-compliant environment preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• No specific certification or licensure required.
