    The Information Research Center (IRC) is an enterprise shared service that connects the business with the information and insights they need to do their jobs. The IRC is looking for a dynamic research professional to join its team.

    This position is based out of the downtown Cincinnati office. Great American's culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday-Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.

    Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

    • Analyzes and synthesizes complex, often incomplete or AI-aggregated information into clear, decision-relevant narratives that drive action for business leaders at all levels of the organization.

    • Develops research project plans and manages high visibility and complex projects from conception to execution.

    • Demonstrates knowledge of research strategies and techniques as well as knowledge of third-party data sources, including the specialized, often hard-to-find sources unique to specialty P&C (state DOI/regulatory filings, statutory statements, rating agency reports, reinsurance and broker market intelligence).

    • Performs ongoing rigorous research and evaluation of emerging trends in the market by identifying, highlighting and updating issues, threats and opportunities while developing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. Develop a specialized knowledge of competitors and market conditions.

    • Proactively pursues new research opportunities and identifies information needs within internal business units. Must become knowledgeable about the organization's businesses, its markets, and its products to interpret information in context.

    • Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, including active engagement in internal business development efforts to expand the team's visibility and impact across the organization.

    • Uses AI and other research technology to accelerate information gathering and aggregation, while applying rigorous human judgment to identify gaps, bias, and inaccuracies in AI-generated content before it informs business decisions.

    • Develops and regularly publishes curated content to meet business needs.

    • Maintains an in-depth understanding of current research tools, trends and data to promote new ideas to drive continuous improvement.

    Job Requirements

    • BA/BS required. MLS, MLIS or related degree preferred.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience researching and interpreting data.

    • Previous experience in insurance research or competitive intelligence required, including familiarity with LexisNexis, Factiva, Bloomberg, S&P, etc.

    • Experience using AI tools in a business environment

    • Experience with applying analytical frameworks and techniques.

    • Working knowledge of insurance financials and products a plus.

    • Ability to translate quantitative findings into a clear, decision-ready narrative for non-technical audiences (data visualization tools a plus, not a requirement).

    • Experience with primary market research a plus.

    • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with decision-makers at different levels in the organization in a variety of functions.

    • Must exhibit a natural curiosity to acquire a firm grasp of the organization and its environment.

    • Prior experience developing exceptional executive-level deliverables.

    • Team player, ability to lead and collaborate in a team environment is required.

    • Detail-oriented and able to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities at one time.

    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
