Global Financial Firm located in Jersey City, NJ has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Market Risk Developer (Java/Python + Spark).
Pay Rate: $84.00 - $89.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
Engage in hands-on development while leading the technical design and implementation of key components of the Market Risk platform.
Communicate with product leads to discuss opportunities for improving existing and future technology solutions.
Implement scalable and high-performance computing solutions for computing market risk and providing analysis capabilities.
Implement containerized deployment and integrate with modern data platforms such as Snowflake for cloud-based data processing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global counterparts to deliver high-quality solutions.
Optimize risk data processing pipelines to improve efficiency and response time.
Partner with Risk, Model Governance, and Compliance stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are accurately implemented in market risk technology.
Work in an Agile development environment, ensuring timely and efficient product delivery.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers in the squad.
Requirements:
Expert-level knowledge of core Java concepts and frameworks such as Spring Boot and Microservices, with a strong understanding of OOPs concepts and design patterns.
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (with Java).
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
Extensive development expertise in building high-scaled and performant software platforms for data computation and processing.
Knowledge of containerized deployments and cloud-native architecture.
Familiarity with Agile software development and DevOps best practices.
Experience with caching solutions like Pinot, Redis, etc.
Experience with relational and/or document-oriented databases.
Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting.
Ability to translate business and analytical requirements into efficient technical solutions.
Ability to guide junior staff, influence technical direction, and manage multiple initiatives in parallel.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience building large-scale, production-grade systems, with demonstrated depth in Java-based backend development and distributed system design.
Background in financial services, especially within Market Risk or FinTech.
