Technical Project Manager - Market Risk Data RemediationPosition OverviewOur client is seeking a strong Technical Project Manager with market risk domain and data knowledge to lead a data remediation program within Market Risk Technology. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of project management, business analysis, capital markets/risk technology experience, and strong data skills.

This role will work closely with technology, risk, business, and other stakeholders to coordinate remediation initiatives, manage project delivery, and ensure data-related issues are identified, tracked, and resolved effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a data remediation program within Market Risk from initiation through delivery.
• Coordinate across technology, business, risk, and data teams to drive remediation activities.
• Manage project scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and deliverables.
• Translate business and risk requirements into actionable technology and data-related workstreams.
• Support analysis and remediation of data issues impacting market risk processes and reporting.
• Work with stakeholders to understand data flows, identify gaps, and coordinate resolution of data quality and remediation issues.
• Leverage SQL to analyze and validate data and support project-related investigations.
• Support Value-at-Risk (VaR) analysis and understand how data impacts market risk calculations and processes.
• Track project activities and deliverables using JIRA.
• Facilitate project meetings, status updates, working sessions, and stakeholder communications.
• Prepare clear project status reporting for senior stakeholders.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and action items throughout the program lifecycle.
• Partner with development and technology teams while maintaining a strong focus on project delivery and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years of professional experience in technology project management, business analysis, or a related role.
• Strong Technical Project Management / Project Management experience, with a preference for candidates who have a PM-heavy PM/BA background.
• Experience within Capital Markets and/or Risk Technology.
• Understanding of Market Risk concepts and processes.
• Experience with VaR (Value-at-Risk) analysis.
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to work with and analyze data.
• Experience using JIRA for project tracking and delivery management.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively across business, technology, risk, and data teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies, and priorities.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Previous banking experience.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Python knowledge, particularly the ability to read and understand existing Python code.
• Experience with data remediation, data quality, data migration, or related data-focused technology initiatives.
• Previous experience supporting Market Risk Technology programs.

Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a mid-level Technical Project Manager / Project Manager who combines strong project delivery skills with enough capital markets, market risk, and data knowledge to effectively work with technical and risk stakeholders.

This is a PM-focused role, so candidates should demonstrate strong ownership of project execution, stakeholder communication, risk/issue management, and delivery coordination rather than being primarily a hands-on developer or pure Business Analyst.
