Pet Engine Marketing is looking for an experienced marketer who can become a trusted partner to our clients and a key operator inside our agency.
This is not a coordinator role, and it is not a narrow channel-specialist role.
You'll lead client relationships, help shape marketing strategy, manage projects and contractors, interpret performance data, and make sure good ideas actually turn into completed work.
Our clients are independent pet businesses across the U.S. and Canada, including pet retailers, groomers, trainers, boarding and daycare facilities, and other local service businesses.
You don't need to be the deepest technical expert in every marketing channel. You do need enough marketing experience to understand how the pieces fit together and confidently advise clients.
You should be comfortable with:
You should be able to look at traffic, leads, rankings, ad performance, email results, bookings, revenue trends, or similar data and answer three questions:
What's happening? Why might it be happening? What should we do next?
You should be highly comfortable with:
You should also know your way around tools such as:
Specific platform expertise matters less than being able to learn quickly and work independently.
You're probably a strong fit if you:
An entrepreneurial mindset matters here. If you've run your own business, freelanced, consulted, built a side business, or otherwise had to make decisions and create momentum without someone constantly telling you what to do, we want to hear about it.
Experience working with local businesses, retail, service businesses, or the pet industry is also a plus.
As Pet Engine grows, this role has the potential to take on increasing leadership responsibility, including helping develop and manage additional members of the account team.
Pet Engine Marketing is a boutique digital marketing agency focused exclusively on independent pet businesses.
We work with pet businesses across the U.S. and Canada, helping them grow through strategy, SEO, paid advertising, email and SMS, websites, local marketing, and other digital channels.
We care about doing excellent work, being useful to our clients, and producing measurable results without unnecessary agency bureaucracy.
We're much more interested in finding someone who pays close attention than someone who can submit applications quickly. If you've made it this far and think the role sounds like you, don't bother with a traditional cover letter.
Send us an email via our website, no more than a few paragraphs, explaining why you think you'd be a strong fit, detailing your experience managing clients, developing marketing strategy, and taking ownership of work without needing someone constantly looking over your shoulder.
We're a small, remote team. That means you'll have significant autonomy, direct access to leadership, and the ability to meaningfully influence how the agency operates.
This is a fully remote position with significant flexibility, but because you'll lead client relationships, you'll need regular availability during U.S. business hours.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next step.
