We're Hiring!

We are seeking a Marketing & Communication Coordinatorto join our agency's Philanthropy & Communication team. This full‑time role is responsible forshaping how we tell our story, helping us reach more people in need of support, and inspiring action through impactful marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the agency's brand, image, and marketing materials across print and digital platforms.
  • Create and update flyers, brochures, website content, and internal/external marketing pieces to ensure accuracy and cohesion.
  • Develop and produce newsletters, social media content, graphics, videos, and other digital communications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets; write and coordinate press releases and media responses.
  • Lead marketing efforts for special events, including campaign development and creation of print and digital materials.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support agency-wide marketing strategies and coordinate advertising opportunities.

These responsibilities provide a foundation for the role but may grow and evolve to meet the dynamic needs of our organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Associate's degree in marketing, communication, graphic design or related field

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, graphic design or related field

Minimum Experience: 1+ years professional experience in Communications, PR or related field. 1+ year proven experience with social media management, content creation, and analytics.

Preferred Experience: 3+ years work experience in Communications, PR or related field; experience with email marketing platforms, such as Constant Contact; Graphic design experience (Canva or Adobe); Website maintenance and design (WordPress and/or SharePoint); Experience preparing press releases and securing media coverage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines on an independent basis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment as part of a cohesive team across the agency.
  • Flexibility to attend occasional evening and/or weekend meetings/events.
  • Articulate, polished, and professional demeanor with a strong work ethic, initiative, and confidence.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships within and outside the agency in a professional manner.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that allows driving for the agency per our policies.

In collaboration with others, the mission of Family Service is to provide quality programs and services, which effectively assist and strengthen individuals and families in our community. Family Service provides more than 5,000,000 meals each year through a USDA food program in 85 Nebraska counties. This program feeds almost 21,000 children in more than 1,312 licensed home child-care facilities. Family Service delivers the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program to 3,000 people in Lancaster County each month. Services include nutrition and breast feeding education as well as formula, milk and other staples. Family Service cares for more than 1,700 children who take part in our child care and early childhood programs based in 20 Lincoln Public Schools.
