Job Summary
The Department of Tourism & Cultural Affairs - Division of Tourism is seeking to fill their vacant Marketing and Communications Manager position in Reno or Carson City. Under the direction of the Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (DTCA), the Marketing & Communications Manager position supports the Division of Museums and History (DMH) in their marketing and communications needs.
The Marketing and Communications Manager will work with the administrative leadership and the marketing agency-of-record to implement a cohesive marketing and communications plan for the division on a fiscal basis. This position also leads the marketing agency team to determine how to regularly optimize the media mix to reach the established goals of each program.
Essential Qualifications
3-5 years of marketing-specific project management; excellent project management and organization skills; ability to work with multiple clients with varying priorities; solid understanding of marketing; knowledge of Nevadas history and culture a plus.
Job Duties
Duties include conducting research to learn about content goals and target audiences, participating in meetings with management, staff, and marketing agency to identify objectives, becoming knowledgeable about each museum's programming and then creating marketing plans to meet those objectives within effective time frames.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing content and programmatic strategy. They will utilize creative vision, collaboration skills, and the ability to understand and work with stakeholders to achieve marketing goals outlined in the Division of Museums and History strategic plan. The Marketing and Communications Manager is accountable to deliver content, programs and events that engage new audiences, meet identified KPIs/metrics, and drive revenue.
