Position Information
Job Title Marketing and Communications Student Assistant for International Programs Fall 2026 Department International Programs Job Description/Duties
General Marketing and Communications focused:
- Manage and develop content for 4 IPO social media accounts
- Manage and develop content for office blog
- Develop content for IPO newsletter
- Create advertisements for IPO events
Videography focused:
- Direct, shoot, and edit short form videos to promote study abroad programs
- Collect videos from study abroad and international students for editing into promotional videos
- Upload videos to IPO social media accounts and publicize around campus flat screens.
Both positions will:
- Assist with phones and student walk-ins as needed.
- Other projects as assigned
Days/Hours Needed
- 4-10 hours per week (General Marketing and Communications role must have availability between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on either Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday or 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Fridays.
- 5-10 hours per week (Videography role flexible based on projects)

Required Qualifications
- Must be a current SUNY Cortland student
- Student must be in good academic and judicial standing
- Student must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and maintain a positive attitude
- Student must have a desire to work with students, faculty and staff
- Student must demonstrate strong writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Students in Professional Writing, English, Communication Studies or Graphic Design and Digital Media majors are encouraged to apply
- Graphic design and digital media skills
- Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, or Avid. (please submit a reel/portfolio of your work)
- Possess an understanding of current social media trends and practices
