Marketing and Events CoordinatorJob No: 498868Work Type: Staff Full-TimeLocation: Denver, COPosition SummaryThe Marketing and Events Coordinator supports the marketing and communications strategy for Career & Professional Development (CPD) using social, digital, and traditional channels, including the CPD website. The role collaborates with CPD teams to coordinate communication with students, alumni, and campus partners, maintains social media, curates content for job and internship searches, and leads campus-wide events.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy to increase awareness of CPD and engagement with career development activities among students, alumni, and other constituents.Lead and coordinate several campus-wide events and programs, creating promotional collateral such as social media content, digital displays, website and online content, email templates, newsletters, and outreach materials.Liaise with program managers and student employees to maintain a communications and marketing schedule and workflow that reaches target audiences.Act as a central point of contact for CPD staff and student employees, managing timelines and reviewing content.Plan, develop, update, and maintain website content on the uConnect platform, coordinate social media, and contribute to digital screens in common areas.Draft, execute, and send bi‑weekly and monthly newsletters for internal and external stakeholders; develop templates for flyers, digital screens, email newsletters, and announcements.Coordinate event logistics, including space reservations, audiovisual needs, catering, accessibility accommodations, vendor coordination, and detailed event timelines.Manage speakers, partners, and facilitators, handling invitations, confirmations, event materials, and on‑site needs.Support CPD staff and student employees involved in events by assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring clear communication and accountability.Participate in tabling events around campus to promote CPD to students.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to implement marketing and communications initiatives that advance CPD and institutional goals.Knowledge of digital engagement strategies, including email marketing, social media, and content development, with the ability to use analytics for continuous improvement.Proven event planning experience, managing logistics, stakeholder relationships, and promotion.Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of campus partners.Attention to detail, time‑management, and organizational skills to meet deadlines.Customer‑service orientation, professionalism, adaptability, and a student‑centered approach.Initiative, sound judgment, and positive work ethic with strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.Project management and technical aptitude, including familiarity with content management systems, design and photo‑editing tools, and web editing platforms.Commitment to an inclusive workplace that welcomes, values, and empowers all community members.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Minimum two years of marketing and/or communications experience, including experience communicating with young adult audiences.Experience in digital marketing.Experience coordinating and executing events.Preferred QualificationsExperience in higher education or a similarly complex environment with multiple audiences.Experience with web content management platforms and Adobe Creative Suite or similar design and editing tools.Working EnvironmentStandard office environment.Unexpected interruptions occur often; stress level moderate to high.Noise level quiet to moderate.Physical ActivitiesAbility to work in front of a computer for extended periods.Occasional movement around the office and campus.Work ScheduleMonday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Partial remote work may be considered in accordance with the University's flexible work policy.BenefitsThe University of Denver offers medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition benefit, and ECO pass.Equal Employment OpportunityThe University of Denver is an equal opportunity employer.
