    Position Information

    Job Title Marketing and Social Media Internship - Fall 2026 Department Career Services Office Job Description/Duties

    The Marketing and Social Media Intern will help increase awareness of Career Services programs, events, and resources among the greater student body. This intern will play a vital role in connecting students to opportunities for career exploration, internships, networking, professional development, and more. By designing and executing engaging marketing campaigns, the intern will contribute to improving student knowledge of Career Services resources - helping even more students students have greater visibility and equitable access to the tools that help them to become career ready now and succeed in their careers post graduation as well.

    The student will learn/gain the following from the internship: hands-on experience in marketing and strategic communications; develop professional project management and collaboration skills within a campus office environment; build a portfolio of marketing materials from real campaigns and projects; opportunities to network with departments, student orgs, employers, and alumni to expand professional connections; and contribute to a more informed and career-ready student body by amplifying awareness of Career Services across campus.

    This internship is eligible for 3 credits of CPV 400 internship credit through Career Services or major/departmental internship credit. Please read our Career Services Internship Guide here to learn more.

    Days/Hours Needed

    This is a hybrid role. Flexible during regular office hours (Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) for in-person hours. Any remote hours can be outside of office hours.

    Career Services office: Van Hoesen Hall, Room B-5

    Required Qualifications

    Must be a SUNY Cortland student.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Student who is outgoing, motivated, and creative
    • Previous experience with managing an organization's social media (not just your personal account) or expertise with social media algorithms and creating viral content
    • Strong relationship building skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excited about SUNY Cortland and our Career Services resources
    • Enthusiastic about helping peers utilize their resources to be successful
