About the Opportunity

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Specialist to support and enhance its enterprise marketing technology ecosystem. This highly visible individual contributor role will serve as a key partner across Marketing, IT, Compliance, and external agency teams, helping drive the successful delivery of marketing technology initiatives while ensuring scalability, compliance, and operational excellence.

This position is ideal for someone who combines deep Salesforce Marketing Cloud expertise with strong stakeholder management skills. You'll play a critical role in guiding platform strategy, supporting campaign execution, evaluating technical solutions, and ensuring marketing systems operate effectively within a regulated healthcare environment.

This is a high-impact opportunity with significant exposure to executive stakeholders and ownership of end-to-end Marketing Cloud initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 4-7+ years of experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and CRM platforms.
• Hands-on experience supporting campaign execution, platform optimization, system integrations, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud including:
  • Journey Builder
  • Audience Segmentation
  • Contact & Subscriber Data Management
  • Reporting & Analytics
  • Preference Center Management
• Experience integrating and managing data between Salesforce Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud.
• Ability to review technical designs, project estimates, and implementation approaches.
• Experience supporting marketing performance measurement and reporting initiatives.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in regulated environments with privacy, governance, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Certifications such as:
  • Marketing Cloud Consultant
  • Marketing Cloud Administrator
  • Sales Cloud Consultant
• Experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, or life sciences organizations.
• Familiarity with:
  • HIPAA
  • HITRUST
  • 21 CFR Part 11
  • GxP or validated systems environments
• Knowledge of Customer Data Platform (CDP) concepts.
• Understanding of email deliverability, authentication, and marketing operations best practices.
• Experience supporting vendor management, platform governance, audits, and change management processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesSalesforce Marketing Cloud Leadership

• Support the design, optimization, and ongoing management of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related CRM solutions.
• Provide strategic and technical guidance on campaigns, journeys, audience segmentation, data structures, and platform enhancements.
• Review solution designs, configurations, integrations, and agency deliverables to ensure alignment with business objectives and platform best practices.
• Evaluate technical estimates, implementation plans, and delivery approaches while identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Help define and maintain standards for integrations and data flows between Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, and connected enterprise systems.

Campaign Execution & Reporting

• Support marketing teams in executing scalable, data-driven campaigns across multiple customer segments.
• Ensure reporting frameworks and performance metrics are consistent, accurate, and actionable.
• Partner with stakeholders to establish measurement strategies and drive continuous optimization of marketing programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as a liaison between Marketing, IT, Compliance, and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Coordinate priorities, deliverables, and communications across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into clear business recommendations.
• Support day-to-day marketing technology operations and provide leadership when key team members are unavailable.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure marketing technology solutions comply with healthcare industry regulations and organizational standards.
• Support governance initiatives related to:
  • HIPAA/PHI and PII protection
  • Consent and preference management
  • CAN-SPAM/CASL compliance
  • Data retention and audit readiness
  • Access controls and security best practices
• Maintain documentation, architecture standards, and decision records to support operational continuity and compliance audits.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Alameda, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $95.00/hr.
