Marketing & Communication Manager

BJC Health is looking for a Marketing & Communication Manager to join our Oasis team.

Oasis is a national nonprofit organization based in St. Louis, dedicated to enriching the lives of adults aged 50 and older through lifelong learning, health andwellness programs, and meaningful community engagement. For more than 40 years, Oasis has been a leader in reducing social isolation and fostering connection by offering dynamic classes and activities—from arts and history to technology, fitness, current events, and volunteer opportunities.

Although Oasis became an independent nonprofit organization in 1998, our roots with Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH) run deep—and our partnership remains strong. Through a long-standing agreement, Oasis Institute staff based in St. Louis are employed by BJH and fully integrated into BJC Health.

This is a full time hybrid position, requires being onsite weekly. Must live in the greater St. Louis area.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The OASIS Institute is a national not-for-profit organization that provides programs in 27 U.S. cities to enrich the lives of adults, age 50-plus through lifelong learning, health and wellness, and civic engagement opportunities.

Role Purpose

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for increasing national and local awareness, participation and support for OASIS. The position reports to the Director of Communications and Technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff in development of strategies and messaging for marketing communications to increase program participation and donor support. Conduct research with target audiences to evaluate messaging and marketing tactics. Publish brand marketing guidelines.
• Supervise vendors and staff in production of communications such as print materials, direct mail, presentations, advertising, online and email campaigns. Provide graphic design services for national and local OASIS programs. Develop ideas for feature articles, interviews and other publicity opportunities. Manage media relations efforts to publicize OASIS.
• Develop and manage content marketing strategy. Cultivate and coach staff and volunteers to contribute quality content that aligns with the strategy.
• Manage updates to online communications including website, blogs and social media platforms. Ensure that new information is posted regularly. Monitor social media engagement, replying/commenting as applicable
• Develop and execute project plans; manage team project activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree - Communications/Nursing/related
• 5-10 years experience
• < 2 years supervisor experience

Preferred Requirements

• Master's Degree - Communications/Nursing/related
• 2-5 years experience
• 2-5 years supervisor experience
