Job Summary

The Marketing & Communications Intern/Extern will support outreach and engagement efforts that advance the organization’s mission to improve healthcare quality. This role assists with creating, coordinating, and distributing content that communicates program outcomes, educational opportunities, and organizational impact to internal and external audiences. The intern/extern will gain hands-on experience in non-profit healthcare marketing while contributing to meaningful quality improvement initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in developing written and visual content for newsletters, website updates, social media, and email communications

Support storytelling efforts by highlighting program outcomes, success stories, and community impact

Help maintain consistency with organizational branding, tone, and messaging

Assist with basic marketing analytics, including tracking engagement and reach

Support internal communications related to healthcare quality improvement projects

Provide administrative and coordination support for marketing campaigns and special initiatives as needed

Gain exposure to marketing and communications within a non-profit healthcare environment

Learn how to translate healthcare quality and performance improvement concepts into lean, accessible messages

Develop professional writing, editing, and digital communication skills

Understand how effective communication supports organizational impact and stakeholder engagement


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Skilled in managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, with close attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.


Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements

Education

Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Health, or a related field.


Travel Requirements

Employee will work remotely from a home-based office. Approximately 25% travel required.
