Marketing & Communications Manager

The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting the overall marketing and communications efforts of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA). This individual will oversee and manage BGCMA's social media channels, websitecontent updates, and contribute to internal and external communications. The Marketing Manager will play an integral role in supporting the brand's presence through creative content creation, newsletter distribution, media coordination, marketing project planning, and administrative tasks. Additionally, this person will assist in providing administrative support and helping train and develop marketing interns. The role also includes media prep for staff to ensure effective communication and public representation. This position requires strong organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, and a passion for BGCMA's mission.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Social Media Management: Oversee and manage BGCMA's social media channels by scheduling posts, tracking analytics, providing reports, and ensuring consistent, engaging content that reflects the brand's mission and goals.

Website Content Management: Maintain and update content on the BGCMA website to ensure it is current, relevant, and aligned with the organization.

Internal Newsletter Development: Develop, write, and distribute BGCMA's internal newsletter. Manage the audience distribution list and ensure timely delivery of information to all relevant stakeholders.

Executive Communications: Draft executive communications for internal and external distribution.

Marketing Administrative Support: Manage the editorial calendar, track marketing deadlines, and handle day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining the marketing inbox, preparing reports, and organizing files.

Collateral Writing & Editing: Draft, edit, and proofread internal and external marketing materials, including slide presentations, impact reports, promotional documents, and other collateral to ensure quality and consistency with BGCMA's brand standards.

Brand/Media Support: Manage the creation and distribution of media materials, including clip sheets, pitch sheets, talking points, and press releases, to ensure positive media coverage and effective communication of key messages. This may include helping with scheduling, communication, and ensuring spokespersons are prepared for media interactions and public appearances. The role may also involve coordinating media training and preparation for staff, ensuring key team members are well-prepared for media interactions, interviews, and public speaking opportunities.

Web/Social Content Creation: Create engaging social media content (e.g., reels, stories, posts) that is visually appealing and consistent with BGCMA's brand voice. Schedule and upload content to the website and social media platforms as needed.

Educational Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, and social media management, preferably in a nonprofit or community-focused setting.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and web content management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to edit and proofread marketing materials.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Creative, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Passion for the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta and the communities we serve.

Environment and Work Conditions: This is a full-time position, based in the Atlanta area. Some evening and weekend work may be required for special events, campaigns, or deadlines.
