Description

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing impactful marketing initiatives that support fundraising, community engagement, volunteer recruitment, and organizational awareness. Reporting to the Development Manager, this position develops high-quality digital, print, video, and event-related marketing materials that strengthen brand presence and drive strategic fundraising and engagement goals. Through creative storytelling and consistent branding, the coordinator plays a key role in amplifying the organization's mission and impact.


Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising Communications

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns aligned with annual fundraising, recurring giving programs, donor stewardship, corporate partnerships, and special events.
  • Develop and produce high-quality donor-centric collateral, including email campaigns, digital assets, presentations, and printed materials.
  • Coordinate campaign production timelines and provide reporting and analytics on campaign performance.

2. Digital Marketing & Social Media

  • Develop and manage a strategic social media calendar, publishing relevant and engaging content to increase audience engagement.
  • Capture and edit photo and video content for social media platforms and organizational use.
  • Create visually appealing e-newsletters and email communications.
  • Ensure website content is regularly updated and optimized for engagement.

3. Brand & Creative Services

  • Design and develop high-impact marketing collateral such as brochures, signage, presentations, reports, advertisements, and promotional materials.
  • Maintain brand consistency and uphold brand standards across all channels and campaigns.
  • Manage the organization's library of branded assets, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.

4. Event Marketing

  • Develop marketing strategies and materials to support fundraising events and third-party partnerships.
  • Design registration pages, promotional materials, event signage, and presentations for successful event execution.
  • Coordinate event photography, videography, and post-event storytelling content.

5. Storytelling & Content Development

  • Craft compelling stories that highlight the organization's mission and impact by conducting interviews, capturing photos/videos, and writing engaging content.
  • Organize and maintain a fully accessible library of creative assets, including photos, videos, and testimonials.

6. Organizational Support

  • Collaborate across departments to deliver effective marketing support for internal and external initiatives.
  • Represent the organization professionally at events, meetings, and other organizational functions as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in marketing or communications roles.
  • Proficiency in creating content for social media, email marketing, websites, print assets, and digital platforms.
  • Experience using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact (or equivalent email marketing platforms) and major social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Strong skills in writing, editing, photography, video editing, project management, and organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in nonprofit marketing, fundraising communications, and donor engagement.
  • Proficiency with tools like WordPress, Raiser's Edge NXT, peer-to-peer fundraising platforms, and basic analytics/metrics.
