Position Summary: Marketing Communications Specialist (hybrid)

In support of Boston Children's strategic Marketing Communications plans, the Marketing
Communications Specialist will implement marketing strategies and tactics targeted at key
constituencies, referring clinicians, consumers, pharmaceutical companies, biotech, medical device
companies, etc. in order to increase awareness of Boston Children’s Hospital and of key clinical services.  Working with the director, the Specialist will oversee the development/execution of events, direct mail, advertising, collateral material, relationship initiatives, Web and e communications to promote the hospital as a whole, as well as key services regionally, nationally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Management - Determines and manages project workflow from concept to completion and delivers on time and on budget. Projects may include the development of marketing collateral, publications, advertisements, Web sites, press releases, direct mail campaigns, promotional items, videos, podcasts, Webcasts and coordination of conferences and events.
2. Quality assurance brand - Responsible for integrity of projects including accuracy of information,
parental consents, adherence to legal specifications, graphic standards and hospital brand,
proper licensing, trademarking, and production quality.  3. Communication and teamwork - Works collaboratively with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications Department and internal clients to define, strategize, organize, supervise and execute marketing projects that are aligned with strategic marketing plans.
4. Vendor management Acts as liaison to and manages external vendors which may include
advertising agencies, media agencies, PR agencies, list vendors, printers and consultants.
5. Targeting analysis Works with database team to refine targeting, create referring mailing lists and
measure response rates. Regularly audits results and effectiveness of marketing communications efforts.          

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree required
Experience: 1 year of marketing communications experience is required.
