The Content Creator/Producer is responsible for content creation and management of videography and photography as well as editing for all digital formats. This position also assists with writing press releases, web content, and social media.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Content Creator is responsible for the photography and videography needs of Centenary College as managed by the Marketing and Communication Department as it relates to print media, the College website, and social media content marketing needs.
- Manages all aspects of the College's digital photography needs.
- Manages photo and video productions shoots-coordination, set-up, information
gathering, securing all photo release agreements from students and others.
- Provides support for and works with athletics in coordinating head shots and team photos as well as coordinates head shots and poster designs for Centenary clubs and organizations (ex: SGA).
- Keeps up to date on marketing trends related to content marketing creation and
platforms.
- Provides on brand visual storytelling through still photography and videography.
- Works with administrative departments, academic departments, and other entities to support their various interests and meet their needs through the website and associated social media.
- Stays current of developments in communications for use in public relations activities.
- Identifies opportunities to leverage emerging and established trends to inform and motivate key constituencies in line with strategic institutional goals.
- Acts as a liaison with vendors, consultants, and agencies when appropriate.
- Accessible and reachable by telephone or text message at times other than College
business hours for fielding urgent after-hours requests.
- Other related projects, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interns and student workers as well as contract or temporary workers.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
MINIMUM
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of related experience; portfolio requested.
- Proficient in digital still photography and lighting.
- Proficient with graphic, photo, and video editing software.
- Proficient in video production and editing.
- Ability to communicate effectively and politely with stakeholders.
- Must be able to work in a self-directed manner through the use of strong organizational skills and inventiveness as well as possess a strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to fulfill job requirements in a high-energy, high-traffic area.
- Awareness of the latest communication trends and ability to research, implement, and leverage, as appropriate, new and existing technologies to support the department's work.
PREFERRED
- Strong experience with digital video and media editing and deployment.
- Experience with and working knowledge of managing social media channels.
- Experience with or working knowledge of writing for the web, writing press releases, and producing social media content.
- Experience managing a job request/ticketing system.
- Experience with a selective, residential, Liberal Arts college.
