Location: Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS

We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator, also referred to as a Marketing Assistant, Digital Marketing Coordinator or Hospital Marketing Coordinator for our Public Relations department. The Marketing Coordinator helps shape how our hospital communicates with the community, patients, staff, and media. Marketing Coordinators work blends marketing, communication, and Public Relation (PR) duties to support the hospital's reputation and outreach goals. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with media relations - draft press releases, coordinate responses to media inquiries, schedule interviews with hospital leaders, and maintain relationships with local news outlets
  • Support reputation and brand management - ensure that all public-facing materials follow the hospital's branding guidelines and reflect its mission, values, and priorities
  • Create and manage content - help produce social media posts, newsletters, website updates, brochures, and patient stories that highlight hospital services, achievements, staff spotlights, community events, or new programs
  • Coordinate community outreach efforts - assist with planning healthcare fairs, screenings, charity events, and other community programs that promote the hospital's visibility and goodwill
  • Monitor public sentiment - Track social media mentions, reviews, and community feedback to help the PR team respond to concerns and maintain a positive image

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business (Development) or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years in related field (business development, sales and/or marketing) strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2-years' experience in healthcare setting strongly preferred; physician relations a plus
  • Minimum 2-years' field marketing/sales/business development experience strongly preferred
  • Independent decision making and strong communication skills required
  • Program planning and/or project management experience and evaluation strongly preferred
  • Critical thinking skills required. Must be autonomous and self-driven. Must be able to work well independently and with others
