Marketing Copywriter (Contract)

Digital United is looking for a versatile Marketing Copywriter who is comfortable moving between content formats and subject matter. You don’t need to specialize in every format. You should know how to understand an objective, work from a brief, ask useful questions, and adapt your writing to the assignment.

As a Marketing Copywriter contracted with us, you’ll create content across a variety of marketing channels and formats. You'll partner closely with strategists and leaders to develop content that meets business objectives and supports our marketing priorities. You should be comfortable collaborating with others and refining your work in response to feedback.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Write and edit content across channels and formats, including: 
  • Email
  • Website
  • SEO
  • Social media
  • Blogs and articles
  • Thought leadership
  • Case studies
  • Event marketing
  • Sales collateral
• Turn strategic briefs into clear, engaging copy
• Ask questions and gather missing information when project inputs are incomplete
• Collaborate with strategists, subject matter experts, designers, and leadership
• Revise content based on feedback and editorial review
• Adapt writing to different formats and industry audiences
• Ensure messaging aligns with brand voice and project goals

What it takes to succeed in this role
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. At least three years of professional writing experience
2. Strong writing and editing skills
3. Ability to write for different audiences and formats
4. Curiosity and initiative when approaching unfamiliar subjects
5. Strong organizational and communication skills
6. Comfort receiving feedback and iterating on work
7. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
8. Strong attention to detail

Structure & Growth Opportunity:

• This is a contract role supporting ongoing marketing initiatives across Digital United. We’re seeking a flexible writer who can contribute as priorities and content needs evolve.
• While this is not currently a full-time position, we’re interested in building a long-term working relationship. The scope of the engagement may grow as our marketing program expands.

Target Rate: $35-$55 per hour
Compensation will be based on experience and the strength of the applicant’s portfolio. We value adaptability more than extensive experience in a single content specialty.
