Position Summary

We’re seeking a part-time, fixed-term attorney to support the US marketing team in our LA office. Working under the supervision of the US Legal regulatory compliance lead, they will help build regular legal processes to enhance marketing compliance. They will also provide day-to-day legal review and advice on advertising, promotions, sweepstakes, contests, games, marketing messages, and related consumer-facing campaigns. 

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare concise written analyses on federal and state marketing-compliance questions, as directed by the supervising attorney.
• Review marketing and advertising materials for regulatory compliance.
• Draft and review rules and disclosures for sweepstakes, contests, and games.
• Manage compliance requirements for sweepstakes.
• Review influencer and endorsement arrangements and contracts.
• Counsel on marketing communications compliance: TCPA (SMS/calling), CAN-SPAM (email), and telemarketing rules.
• Draft and review agreements related to marketing activities.
• Provide practical, business-oriented risk assessments under tight campaign timelines.

Job Requirements

• Admitted to a US state bar (California or Washington preferred), or bar exam taken with admission pending. Until admitted, the hire works as a Law Clerk under the direct supervision of a licensed attorney.
• 0-3 years of experience in legal practice.
• Strong legal research and writing; able to turn analysis into practical guidance for marketing teams.
• Works well within a structured review process and takes direction from a supervising attorney.
• Familiarity with all the following requirements, with working knowledge in at least one:

  • Federal and state regulatory requirements for marketing activities

  • Federal and state consumer protection regulations

  • State sweepstakes laws

  • TCPA

  • CAN-SPAM

Employment Terms

• Part-time, fixed-term employment ending on December 31, 2026. Employment is at will during the term and may be terminated at any time. The Company may, at its sole discretion, offer to renew; this role carries no promise or expectation of guaranteed employment for the entire term, extension of the term, or conversion to a full-time or permanent position.
• Hours: approximately 20-25 hours per week
• Compensation: hourly, $40-$60 per hour, depending on experience
• Start date: as soon as practicable, targeting third or fourth week of September 2026
• Location: Los Angeles, CA
