About Islamic Relief USA

Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) is a faith-inspired humanitarian and development organization committed to saving lives and empowering communities around the world. With programs spanning emergency response, food security, education, clean water, and more, IRUSA reaches millions of people annually across dozens of countries. Headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area, IRUSA operates a full-scale marketing and communications department that drives donor engagement, brand stewardship, and multi-channel fundraising across the organization's entire portfolio.

Position Summary

The Marketing Data Manager is IRUSA's authority on marketing performance data, responsible for turning numbers across dozens of channels, platforms, and campaigns into the insights that drive better decisions. This role owns the analytics and reporting infrastructure, administers the marketing-technology and data stack, manages audience segmentation for campaigns, and ensures that data flows accurately across all systems. Working closely with the Assistant Director for Marketing, the external marketing agency partner, and internal IT and Finance teams, the Marketing Data Manager is both a technical specialist and a strategic communicator, someone who can maintain a complex data ecosystem and translate its outputs for non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Performance Reporting

  • Own marketing analytics and reporting, building and maintaining dashboards and regular performance reports across all channels.
  • Establish and track KPIs and measurement frameworks for campaigns, providing baselines, benchmarks, and trend analysis for brand and campaign performance.
  • Support attribution and ROI/ROAS analysis for seasonal, emergency, and evergreen campaigns, identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights to the Assistant Director for Marketing and Director of Marketing on a regular cadence.

MarTech Stack Administration

  • Administer and maintain the marketing-technology and data stack day to day, including the customer data platform (CDP), CRM integrations, web analytics (Google Analytics), and advertising-platform data connections.
  • Troubleshoot data-flow and integration issues in coordination with IT and the marketing-technology partner.
  • Ensure data hygiene, governance, and integrity across all marketing systems.
  • Partner with IT and Finance on CRM data flows, online giving and donation platform integrations, and campaign tracking, including UTM governance.

Audience Segmentation & Targeting

  • Manage audience segmentation and list and audience creation for campaigns, ensuring accurate targeting and personalization across email, paid media, and digital channels.
  • Maintain segment definitions and suppression lists, ensuring compliance with communication preferences and data-governance standards.

Cross-Functional Data Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Marketing and the external marketing agency partner to translate data insights into strategy and creative decisions.
  • Document data processes, definitions, and reporting standards to improve efficiency, consistency, and organizational knowledge transfer.
  • Support the Assistant Director in defining and maintaining a unified measurement framework across channels.

Qualifications and Compentencies

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, analytics, data science, statistics, business, or a related field required at a minimum.
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing analytics, marketing operations, or a data-focused role.
  • Embraces and exhibits Islamic Relief values (excellence, compassion, sincerity, custodianship, social justice) in character, professionalism, and work ethic.
  • Proficiency with web analytics (Google Analytics), CRM (Salesforce), and business-intelligence or reporting tools; experience with a customer data platform (CDP).
  • Strong data hygiene, segmentation, and attribution skills, with comfort working across large datasets.
  • SQL or comparable data-query skills; advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel and Google Sheets).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate data for non-technical audiences.
  • Outstanding project-, process-, time-management, and organization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, ClickUp, and Salesforce.
  • Flexibility in work schedule and willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred

  • At least two years working in a nonprofit environment, ideally in donor or fundraising analytics.
  • Experience with customer data platforms and audience-segmentation tools and marketing automation.
  • Experience with advertising-platform reporting, tag management, and dashboarding tools such as Looker Studio.
  • Experience with online giving and donation platforms and CRM-to-marketing integrations.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic, Urdu, or Farsi.

Core Competencies

Extracts meaningful insight from complex, multi-source marketing data.

Technical Fluency

Navigates CDPs, CRMs, web analytics platforms, and ad-platform data connections with confidence.

Data Integrity

Maintains accurate, well-governed data systems that the organization can trust.

Segmentation Precision

Builds audiences and lists that improve campaign relevance and performance.

Communicative Clarity

What Success Looks Like

In the first 90 days, the incoming Marketing Data Manager will have audited the existing analytics and reporting infrastructure, established working knowledge of all active data integrations and platform connections, and begun producing regular performance reports for marketing leadership. Within six months, the Marketing Data Manager will have meaningfully improved the accuracy or completeness of the organization's campaign measurement framework, established reliable audience segments for at least one major campaign, and demonstrated the ability to deliver insight that influences strategy. Over the long term, the Marketing Data Manager will be the trusted source of marketing performance truth across the organization, a role that turns data into better campaigns, more effective spend, and stronger donor relationships.
