SSC, Inc., dba Sunnyvale Seafood Co., is seeking a driven, results-oriented Marketing Development Sales Specialist to support the growth of our seafood distribution business. This role is ideal for a sales professional who understands the food service industry and is passionate about developing new markets, building strong customer relationships, and driving sustainable revenue growth.  This position will be located in Union City, California- NOT A REMOTE POSITION.  MUST HAVE SEAFOOD SALES EXPERIENCE.


Key Responsibilities


  • Identify, develop, and acquire new customers within the food service and related industries
  • Expand market presence by targeting restaurants, wholesalers, retailers, and hospitality clients
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers to ensure long-term retention
  • Execute sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, logistics, procurement) to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities (as needed)
  • Support marketing initiatives, including promotions and product launches

Qualifications


  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management (preferably in food service or seafood industry)
  • Strong understanding of the food distribution or wholesale market
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Stable work history with a commitment to long-term career growth
  • Experience in seafood trade shows or industry events
  • Familiarity with new media marketing (social media, digital campaigns, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel locally for client visits and business development
 
Physical Demands:


•       A warehouse environment is subject to exposure to extreme temperature changes, moisture, noise, odors, and moving equipment.


•       Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evenings
