Position SummaryMarketing Manager for University Housing at the University of Wisconsin‑Milwaukee.Develops, implements, and executes integrated marketing and communications strategies that support student recruitment, retention and resident engagement. Oversees the university housing website, the design center, and student staff, ensuring consistent, effective, and accessible messaging across all channels.Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing strategy, campaign development and execution – 40%Lead multi‑channel campaigns (digital, print, web, social, email) to support recruitment, retention, and resident engagement.Develop and edit content for publications, newsletters, web pages, and promotional materials.Identify target audiences and develop messaging strategies that strengthen the university housing value proposition.Use outreach activities as marketing avenues to advance university housing visibility.Maintain brand standards for consistent voice, messaging and visual identity.Manage marketing calendars and timelines tied to key housing processes.Collaborate with housing leadership and campus partners to align efforts.Manage day‑to‑day communication channels (email, website, social media, Panther Family Portal) ensuring consistent messaging across all digital and in‑person touchpoints.Track and monitor marketing performance (web traffic, social media engagement, campaign results) and use data to inform adjustments.Website management – 25%: Manage the university housing website, maintain content accuracy, and ensure compliance with brand guidelines, web standards, AI policies and accessibility standards.Creative direction, design center operations & content production – 20%: Lead development and production of marketing content across platforms and oversee the design center to provide services to staff and student leaders.Student staff supervision & coordination – 10%: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student staff; provide direction and feedback; coordinate workflow and project assignments.Other duties as assigned – 5%.SupervisionSupervises student employees only: 2–3 student graphic artists, 1–2 social media assistants, 1 videographer/photographer.Key CompetenciesProject management, prioritization, and stakeholder collaborationStudent staff supervisionGraphic design, creative direction and visual communicationWritten communicationAdobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)WordPress and web content managementWeb accessibility and compliance standardsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office.Experience supervising student employees, interns, or creative staff.Preferred QualificationsExperience in student affairs or higher education.Experience creating and analyzing marketing performance metrics.Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects.Experience producing materials across digital and print platforms, including photography and video.Experience managing websites using WordPress or a similar CMS.Experience developing and executing marketing strategies in higher education.Knowledge of student recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies.Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.Equal Opportunity EmployerQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, pregnancy, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other bases protected by applicable federal or State law and UW System policies.
