SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Marketing Work-Study student supports the Marketing & Communications Department by assisting with day-to-day marketing initiatives that promote Schreiner University on both the academic and athletic side of campus. This position provides hands-on experience in marketing, communications, and digital media while developing professional skills in a collaborative campus environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist with the creation and scheduling of content for Schreiner University social media platforms including, but not limited to, Schreiner University Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube channels
- Utilize Adobe Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Canva, Opus AI and other creation/editing platforms to create content highlighting and promoting Schreiner University
- Support marketing campaigns, events, and promotions across campus
- Assist with photography, videography, and basic graphic design projects as needed
- Help maintain and organize digital assets, files, and content calendars
- Conduct basic research, proofreading, and data entry for marketing projects as needed
- Provide general administrative support to the Marketing & Communications team
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED EXPECTATIONS
- Workload: Students should average 10 hours per week, not to exceed 250 hours total across both fall and spring semesters.
- Earnings Limit: A student may earn up to $2,500 per academic year (fall and spring combined) for their job(s).
- Exceptions: Requests to earn more than $2,500 per academic year must be approved in advance
- by the Office of Meaningful Work.
- Job Limits: Students are encouraged to hold one (1) job on campus but may work more than one job.
- Maximum Hours: No student may exceed 20 hours worked per week at all jobs combined (winter and summer terms no more than 30 hours).
- Professional Standards: Student employment is a job. Studying and/or attending class is/are not part of the job description.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Enrollment: Be enrolled as a current Schreiner University student.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Organizational Skills: Exhibit effective organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professionalism: Be dependable, punctual, and maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
