Marketing Specialist Associate

Under direct supervision, supports marketing and public outreach programs designed to increase awareness and use of OCTA projects, programs, and services. This entry-level role assists with marketing campaigns, community engagement, events, social media, and communications targeting diverse audiences throughout Orange County.

This is a non-exempt position in salary grade 170: Min – $34.61 | Mid – $41.12| Max – $47.62/hour. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with marketing and public awareness campaigns using advertising, events, email, social media, and promotions
• Develop and distribute marketing materials and public outreach collateral
• Support community meetings, workshops, focus groups, and outreach events
• Coordinate event logistics, staffing, materials, and site requirements
• Monitor website and social media content for accuracy and relevance
• Gather and analyze customer and public feedback and prepare reports
• Write, proofread, and edit public information and marketing content
• Conduct outreach to businesses and community organizations and help develop partnerships
• Track communication metrics, maintain databases, and prepare reports and presentations
• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and community partners

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Related marketing, communications, or public outreach experience preferred
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze information, maintain accurate data, and communicate findings
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Orange County demographics and transportation issues is desirable
• Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular business hours and attend community events
