Brooks Rehabilitation is bringing its nationally recognized expertise to Arizona, and we're looking for a creative, curious and highly motivated Marketing Specialist to help tell that story.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a self-starter, storyteller, relationship builder and creative thinker who will be embedded at our new Arizona hospital and serve as the local marketing and communications go-to person. You'll get to know our patients, families, clinicians and leaders, uncover great stories, create meaningful content and bring the Brooks brand and The Brooks Way to life in Arizona.
You'll help build awareness, strengthen our reputation, support growth and find creative ways to showcase what makes Brooks different, with the support of our corporate Marketing & Communications team in Jacksonville, Florida, and the opportunity to bring a strong local perspective to a growing market.

Responsibilities
- Be the local marketing and communications go-to person for the Arizona hospital, partnering with hospital leadership, physicians, clinicians, Patient Experience, Human Resources and other key stakeholders to understand priorities and identify opportunities.
- Tell the Brooks story. Build relationships across the hospital and continually uncover meaningful patient, clinical, physician, employee, community and organizational stories that showcase Brooks' expertise, impact and The Brooks Way.
- Develop compelling content to be used on social media, websites, digital signage, internal and external communications and other channels. Help maintain a local content calendar in partnership with the corporate Marketing & Communications team.
- Lead storytelling from start to finish, including identifying stories, conducting interviews, coordinating approvals, writing and coordinating photography and video while ensuring appropriate privacy, sensitivity and professionalism.
- Support public relations and media relations as the on-site media point of contact. including identifying stories, spokespeople, and coordinating interviews and media logistics.
- Be a local brand champion and steward. Ensure brand standards, messaging and visual identity are consistently and accurately applied across signage, collateral, digital displays, marketing materials, social content, wayfinding, events and other patient and community facing touchpoints. Partner with corporate Marketing & Communications on brand guidance and approvals.
- Monitor local social media and online reputation efforts in partnership with the corporate Marketing team. Identify trends, issues and opportunities and help turn insights into action.
- Support national and local conferences, events and activations that advance marketing goals, strengthen relationships and increase awareness of Brooks in the Arizona market.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities from concept through completion, including timelines, stakeholders, deliverables and deadlines. Use project management tools such as Trello and other platforms to organize work and maintain visibility across teams.
- Measure marketing analytics and prepare reports highlighting agreed-upon metrics.
- Bring energy, creativity and initiative to the role. Stay current on marketing, communications, healthcare and digital trends and look for smarter, more effective ways to connect Brooks with the Arizona community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, digital marketing, content or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content for multiple audiences and channels. AP writing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience across digital marketing, social media, content development, analytics and campaign performance, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Experience coordinating photo and video production and working with creative partners, freelancers, agencies and other vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines, coordinate cross-functional teams and keep work moving in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Trello or similar project management platforms is preferred.
- Experience with public relations, media relations, patient storytelling, thought leadership or executive communications is preferred.
- Familiarity with web content management, SEO, CRM, email marketing, online reputation management and paid digital advertising is preferred.
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud and similar platforms. Experience with WordPress and Google Analytics is a plus.
- Healthcare marketing or communications experience is a plus.
Location: 18500 64th Street, Phoenix AZ
Onsite role embedded within the new Brooks Rehabilitation hospital. The position requires frequent interaction with hospital leadership, clinicians, teammates, patients, families and external partners while maintaining a close working relationship with the corporate Marketing & Communications team in Jacksonville, Florida.
Occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends may be required to support events, media opportunities, community activities or hospital initiatives. Some travel is required for meetings, conferences, events, professional development and other enterprise or regional activities.
