The Marketing Specialist – Promotions & Events is responsible for supporting the planning, development, and execution of casino promotions, special events, entertainment activations, and guest engagement initiatives. This position serves as the operational lead for assigned promotions and events, managing all aspects from concept through execution and post-event analysis.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a combination of creativity, project management, technical aptitude, and exceptional guest service skills. The Marketing Specialist works cross-functionally with multiple departments to deliver engaging, compliant, and memorable experiences that drive guest visitation, loyalty, and revenue.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior guest service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
• Ensures compliance with all company policies and applicable regulatory requirements and reports potential issues to management.
• Assists in the ideation, planning, and development of casino promotions, special events, VIP experiences, tournaments, giveaways, and other guest engagement initiatives.
• Owns assigned promotions and events from initial planning through final execution, including operational coordination, compliance, guest experience, and post-event reporting.
• Creates and manages promotional configurations within casino marketing systems, including player database systems, promotional software, digital drawing platforms, mobile applications, kiosks, and other marketing technologies.
• Coordinates and tests promotional setups to ensure all systems, prize structures, offers, and communications are functioning properly prior to launch.
• Develops and maintains promotional rules, procedures, execution plans, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Designs engaging and innovative execution methods, games, presentations, and guest experiences that keep promotions fresh, exciting, and entertaining.
• Coordinates all operational requirements necessary for successful promotion and event execution, including setup needs, audiovisual requirements, signage, decorations, inventory movement, room configurations, transportation, and other logistical support.
• Purchases, orders, and maintains promotional materials, giveaway items, decorations, prizes, and event supplies within established budgets.
• Partners with departments including Slots, Table Games, Player Services, Security, Facilities, IT, Finance, Food & Beverage, and Compliance to ensure seamless event execution.
• Executes on-property promotions and events including drawings, giveaways, kiosk promotions, mobile app promotions, tournaments, VIP events, entertainment activations, and other marketing initiatives.
• Maintains a visible presence on the casino floor during promotions and events, proactively engaging with guests and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
• Utilizes public address systems and other communication channels to announce promotions, winners, event details, and guest information.
• Conducts winner verification, maintains winner documentation, assigns prizes within company systems, and ensures proper tax and compliance procedures are followed.
• Contacts winners and participants via phone, email, or other approved communication methods regarding prizes, event attendance, and related information.
• Maintains accurate promotional records, winner logs, inventories, and supporting documentation.
• Prepares promotional recaps, audits results against objectives, and identifies opportunities to improve future promotions and events.
• Assists with community events, sponsorship activations, off-property appearances, and other marketing initiatives representing the property within the local market.
• Provides scheduled coverage at the PENN Play Center by assisting guests with loyalty program questions, mobile application support, account inquiries, offer redemption questions, and general guest service needs.
• Maintains working knowledge of PENN Play benefits, mobile application functionality, property offers, and marketing initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

BRING US YOUR BEST.:

• Associate's degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Business, Event Management, Communications, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience in marketing, promotions, events, hospitality, customer service, or a related field preferred.
• Experience coordinating events, promotions, entertainment, or customer engagement activities is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking in front of large groups and making public announcements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize casino marketing systems, player database systems, promotional software, mobile applications, and other technology platforms.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain all licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
