Brown & Brown is seeking a Marketing Team Leader to join our growing team in Phoenix, AZ!

The Marketing Team Leader provides leadership, direction, and oversight for Commercial Placement Specialists and Producers‑in‑Training within the Commercial Lines Placement Department. Associate Placement Specialist strategies and placement efforts with multiple competing insurance carriers on an account‑by‑account basis to support sales and customer service teams. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing carrier quotes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and negotiating coverage terms and pricing for both renewal and new business. Ensures competitive positioning, strengthens carrier relationships, and supports overall agency growth through informed Placement Specialist and strategic negotiation.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Marketing Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the procurement of alternative quotes and carrier options to retain existing insurance programs

  • Analyze market information in order to develop, design and implement creative strategies for sales team members

  • Monitor new markets and programs and new opportunities

  • Review and recognize improvement areas of existing policies and competing quotes and evaluate options alongside the sales team member

  • Negotiate with insurance carriers competitive coverage and pricing options on behalf of our client

  • Act as support for sales and customer service teammates with any market information or insight

  • Risk Match power user

  • Oversight & Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Placement department staffing (interviews, hiring & termination)

  • Establish, foster and maintain carrier/underwriter relationships - Placement Leader is often the first point of contact regarding agency & carrier success/difficulties

  • Coordinate and attend various carrier meetings to stay abreast of new underwriting guidelines, program capabilities, etc.

  • Develop and foster professional and positive relationships among teammates and other department members

  • Engage in analysis of carrier results and projections for potential contingency plans

  • Supervise teammates' training and development by holding frequent marketing meetings and reviewing work as needed to ensure proper QC compliance and understanding of coverages

  • Coordinate with Commercial Lines Leader, Sales Coach/Leader and/or Profit Center Leader to organize the training schedule of new Producers. Oversee training in coordination with the Sales Coach, including regular check-ins on progress.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Arizona P&C insurance license

  • Property & Casualty Insurance Designation, such as the CIC or CPCU

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Exceptional communication demeanor

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • At least 5-10 years of experience in a similar Insurance Agency position

  • Must have and maintain a current P&C License for the required states.

  • Four-year college degree (preferred)

  • Prior leadership or management experience
