Description

Payrate: $21.00- $21.00/hr.
 
Summary
This position educates and assists individuals and families with the enrollment and recertification process for Marketplace and government-sponsored health insurance programs, including Child Health Plus (CHP), Medicaid Managed Care (MA/MMC), Essential Plan (EP), and Qualified Health Plans (QHP). The role also supports business development and community outreach initiatives designed to increase awareness of health insurance options, promote enrollment and retention, and strengthen relationships with local businesses, community agencies, and organizations. The position serves as a trusted resource for applicants by providing guidance throughout the enrollment process, explaining program eligibility requirements, and advocating on behalf of members when necessary.
 
Responsibilities
  • Educate individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations regarding available health insurance products, benefits, eligibility requirements, and enrollment options.
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with community influencers, local agencies, community-based organizations, health fairs, and outreach events within the assigned territory.
  • Proactively engage local businesses and community groups to increase awareness of healthcare offerings, applicable regulations, and Company services.
  • Participate in business strategy discussions and provide customer insights and competitive intelligence gathered through community interactions.
  • Collect, review, and evaluate household and financial information to determine eligibility for health insurance programs, including Adjusted Premium Tax Credits (APTC) and Cost Sharing assistance.
  • Assist applicants in obtaining and submitting required documentation related to age, residency, income, and other eligibility requirements.
  • Communicate available health insurance options, benefits, and associated costs based on the individual or family’s circumstances.
  • Support customer retention initiatives by applying onboarding best practices and serving as a member advocate throughout the enrollment process.
  • Interpret and apply applicable enrollment guidelines, rules, and regulations when assisting current and prospective members.
  • Communicate application requirements and eligibility criteria in multiple languages when applicable.
  • Review and compare financial information, including tax returns and financial statements, as required during enrollment assessments.
  • Analyze enrollment situations and provide solutions to applicants encountering enrollment barriers or eligibility concerns.
  • Present enrollment information, eligibility requirements, and available health plans to community groups and public audiences.
  • Attend enrollment events, training sessions, workshops, and industry meetings to remain informed of regulatory and program updates.
  • Provide coverage and support for team members during absences, schedule changes, outreach activities, and community events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal and financial information in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
 
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
 
Experience Requirements
  • One to two years of experience in a Marketplace Facilitated Enroller (MFE), customer service, sales, or related role preferred.
  • Experience working directly with customers and community organizations preferred.
 
Required Skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough knowledge of Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, Medicaid/Medicaid Managed Care, and Qualified Health Plan products.
  • Ability to assess customer needs and research issues through resolution.
  • Ability to identify and resolve enrollment barriers while supporting applicants through the enrollment process.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to educate community organizations on insurance programs and enrollment requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access, as well as email, calendar, CRM, and other business applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, including basic arithmetic and interpretation of financial information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with culturally diverse populations.
  • Sensitivity and professionalism when obtaining personal and confidential applicant information.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $21.00 - $21.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
