Job DescriptionThe Marketplace Manager is responsible for driving growth, profitability, and brand expansion across third-party marketplace channels, including Amazon, Etsy, Walmart, and emerging platforms. The position owns the strategy and performance of these channels, including day-to-day operations, vendor relationships, product performance, and marketplace supply chain execution. The Marketplace Manager is accountable for driving revenue, ensuring ecommerce platforms and products are fully optimized, and coordinating cross-functional efforts across warehouse, advertising, and product teams to deliver Marketplace success. This person will drive Marketplace revenues from $3 million annually to $8 million annually and beyond, while achieving a target net contribution of at least 10%. This position is part of the Product and Ecommerce Team and reports to its director.Responsibilities:Marketplace Strategy & GrowthOutcome: Drive profitable revenue growth and maximize return on marketplace investmentsOwn the Marketplace business plan and ensure alignment with company goalsDrive data-informed strategies to improve traffic quality, conversion, and profitabilityIdentify and prioritize expansion opportunities across products, categories, and marketplacesEnsure coordinated advertising, content, and campaign execution to drive efficient customer acquisitionLeverage marketplace platforms as a strategic brand acquisition channelProduct Performance & Customer ExperienceOutcome: Improve conversion and sales velocity across all listingsOversee product listings end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compelling presentation, with high standards for content, imagery, and customer-facing detailLead successful product launches and ongoing lifecycle performancePartner with Product Management to ensure strong assortment and vendor alignmentBuild and maintain a strong customer experience on marketplace platforms, resulting in high review scores and customer trustOperations & Marketplace ExecutionOutcome: Ensure reliable, data-driven marketplace operations that support growthEnsure inventory levels and fulfillment operations support sales and customer expectationsMaintain strong platform health, compliance, and account standingMonitor key performance metrics (traffic, conversion, ROI, contribution margin)Deliver reporting and insights that inform decisions and prioritize opportunitiesVendor Relations & Product SelectionOutcome: Build a high-performing, differentiated marketplace assortmentManage and strengthen relationships with marketplace vendors and partnersIdentify new vendors and product opportunitiesNegotiate terms and hold partners accountable to performance expectationsTeam Leadership & AccountabilityOutcome: Build and lead an effective, results-driven Marketplace teamLead, coach, and develop team members responsible for Marketplace executionSet clear priorities, delegate work effectively, and ensure accountability for resultsBuild systems and processes that enable scalable performance and a strong team cultureQualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, ecommerce, marketing, or a related field Marketplace, ecommerce, or digital channel management experience Hands-on experience with major marketplace platforms (Amazon strongly preferred) Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, margin management, and advertising performance Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into action Experience leading or influencing teams and driving results through others Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentCompensation & BenefitsThe Marketplace Manager is a fulltime, exempt position with a salary range of $70,000 - $73,400 annually depending on individual qualifications.
