Assistant Football with the possibility of Coach-Offensive Coordinator and/or Defensive Coordinator

Marshall High School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Football Coach to join our high school football program. Qualified candidates may have the opportunity to serve as an Offensive Coordinator and/or Defensive Coordinator, depending on experience and program needs. This position is ideal for coaches passionate about player development, teamwork, and building a competitive, student-centered football culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Football Coach in all aspects of the football program
  • Coach position groups and support player skill development
  • Contribute to practice planning, game preparation, and in-game adjustments
  • Promote academic success, sportsmanship, and positive character development
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities
  • Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic association policies
  • Communicate effectively with coaching staff, players, and administration

Coordinator Responsibilities (If Assigned)

  • Develop and implement offensive and/or defensive systems and game plans
  • Lead film study, scouting reports, and opponent analysis
  • Call plays or assist with play-calling during games (as designated)
  • Mentor assistant coaches within the offensive or defensive unit
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Coach to align philosophy and strategy
  • Assistant Football Coach-Defensive Coordinator/Offensive Coordinator

Qualifications

  • Previous football coaching experience required (high school or higher preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategy, and player development
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • CPR, First Aid, and required state coaching certifications (or willingness to obtain)
