What will I Do?

The Mascot Coordinator is responsible for the logistical management, scheduling, and overall execution of the mascot program across all MSE properties. Mascots play a crucial role in enhancing fan engagement and representing the company; therefore, the Mascot Coordinator acts with the utmost professionalism in representing the brand. As part of the Community Relations department, this role acts as the central hub for all mascot appearances, balancing community-driven requests with game-day and marketing presentation needs. While primarily an office-based management and logistical role, the Mascot Coordinator ensures brand consistency, manages part-time talent/handlers, and must be willing and able to step into a mascot suit to perform in emergency situations. The role champions the company’s Mission and Vision and models the company Values.
The position will:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for community, corporate, and internal requests for mascot appearances; evaluate, vet, and book events based on organizational priorities.
- Manage the master calendar for multiple mascots across all MSE properties for game-day operations and public and community appearances.
- Partner closely with the Marketing and Game Presentation teams to integrate mascots seamlessly into pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment routines.
- Coordinate, schedule, and support part-time mascot performers and handlers, ensuring they have the resources, timelines, and information needed for successful activations.
- Act as a handler or event lead during major community activations, ensuring the safety of the performer and maximizing fan engagement.
- Oversee the budget, care, inventory, professional cleaning, shipping logistics, and minor repairs of all mascot costumes and prop assets.
- Oversee the mascot van logistics.
- Assist the community relations team with events and other items as needed.
- Works closely with game operations and marketing departments to develop engaging performance routines and fan interactions.
- Ensures mascots present high energy, enthusiasm, and a fun demeanor while interacting with fans and guests at all events.
- Ensures mascots uphold the standards of the character in every situation, including on-field skits, dances, pre-taped videos, in-stand interactions, and off-site community appearances.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Willing and able to step into a mascot suit and perform at games or community events if an emergency or scheduling conflict arises.
What are the requirements of the Job?

- 1–3 years of experience in sports entertainment, event coordination, community relations, public relations, or a related administrative field.
- Prior experience as a mascot performer, character handler, or a background in performing arts (dance, cheer, theater, gymnastics) is highly preferred due to emergency backup responsibilities.
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to interface with corporate partners, community leaders, and internal executives.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the market area.
- Ability to pass a background check and become safe sport certified.
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to match home game schedules and weekend community events.
- Ability to balance thriving in a professional office environment (sitting, typing, organizing) while possessing the ability to shift into live event performance work (client facing, standing, greeting).
- If operating as a mascot, must be able to maintain an energetic and enthusiastic persona for extended periods with limited visibility
- Must be able to handle the responsibility of representing the company and have high integrity.
- Must be highly organized, capable of managing moderate to high levels of live-event stress, and able to make quick, sound decisions on the fly.
What is the wage?
We aim to hire at a level that allows for meaningful salary growth as you thrive in your role. We generally offer a starting rate that reflects your current expertise while leaving plenty of room for future advancement. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $40,000-$50,000.
