SUMMARY: The Behavior Interventionist observes and documents student behavior and progress, implements SEL, behavioral and enrichment plans, monitors student progress across settings, and provides data and feedback to school staff. This role is part of the MASH (Moving All to Success & Health) program and works closely with a multidisciplinary teamincluding a BCBA, educators, families, and community partnersto provide individualized, wrap-around supports for students across multiple districts in the ESD 123 region. The position requires travel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support and assistance as required when working with students with challenging behaviors.
- Support the development and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and Skills-Based Treatment (SBT).
- Conduct student observations and assist with instructional and program planning.
- Collect, maintain, analyze, and summarize student behavioral data.
- Model evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices and coach general and special education staff on sensory supports and behavior strategies.
- Assist the lead behavioral specialist with skills acquisition, behavior reduction, and preparation of student and staff materials.
- Implement behavior intervention plans using positive reinforcement and behavior-modification strategies.
- Monitor and support students across classroom, non-classroom, educational, and vocational settings to ensure safety, engagement, and progress.
- Utilize safe and appropriate crisis response procedures when students exhibit aggressive or non-compliant behavior.
- Maintain accurate manual and electronic records (e.g., daily point sheets, activity logs, progress data).
- Collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, and paraeducators across multiple school sites.
- Demonstrate professionalism through strong written and verbal communication, confidentiality, time management, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and required training.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all Board policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months to one year of hire.
- Experience working with students with challenging behaviors and/or emotional needs.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience, including recent experience in a school setting, preferred.
- Must have a valid drivers license, reliable personal transportation with appropriate insurance.
- Ability and willingness to travel regionally with occasional statewide trips, including overnight travel.
- Experience implementing IEPs, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) preferred.
- Experience implementing interventions grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles preferred.

COMPENSATION:
- Paid once a month on the last working day of the month.
- Receives an average monthly gross paycheck based on the number of days and hours assigned to the work calendar (Sept 01-Aug 31) and placement on the salary schedule.
- A full work calendar for this position is 180 days and 8 hours per day. Below is an example of a gross monthly paycheck for a full work year:
- $2,841.60 (step 1/year 1) - $3,198.00 (step 5/year 5)
- This amount may increase or decrease slightly based on hiring date and months remaining in the work calendar (Sept 01-Aug 31).
