Description

The Mass Retail Intern will support the day-to-day execution of key initiatives across Simple Modern's mass retail business, with a focus on marketplace management, product and sample coordination, retail content syndication, and operational support. The intern will work closely with the Mass Retail team and cross-functional partners in Manufacturing and Merchandising to maintain accurate product listings, coordinate samples and SKU requests, monitor marketplace performance, and help keep projects moving forward across retail channels.

This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver who is eager to learn more about retail and e-commerce. Success requires strong written communication, comfort working with data and new systems, reliable follow-through, and productive collaboration across teams.

Objectives

Key Responsibilities:

1. Marketplace & E-Commerce Support

• Support the creation, maintenance, and optimization of marketplace product listings and product detail pages (PDPs).
• Monitor listing accuracy and help identify and resolve content or setup issues.
• Assist with the coordination and execution of promotional deals that have both marketplace and omni-channel crossover.
• Monitor key marketplace performance metrics and support the team in maintaining account health and Pro Seller status.
• Identify opportunities to improve marketplace processes, organization, and efficiency.

2. Sample & SKU Coordination

• Assist with the creation and tracking of sample and SKU requests.
• Maintain organized and accurate status tracking throughout the sample development process.
• Gather, organize, and prepare samples for retailer meetings, submissions, and shipments.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Merchandising teams to communicate needs, track progress, and help keep projects on schedule.
• Proactively identify missing information, samples, or next steps and communicate updates to the appropriate team members.

3. Bazaarvoice & Retail Content Syndication

• Monitor product and review syndication through Bazaarvoice across mass retail channels.
• Help identify and troubleshoot products or reviews that are not syndicating as expected.
• Maintain organized tracking of syndication status and outstanding issues.
• Support opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the team's syndication processes.

4. Product Testing Support (as capacity allows)

• Assist with the creation and submission of UL testing applications.
• Track testing needs, status, and documentation as needed.
• Research opportunities to streamline testing processes, improve efficiency, and identify potential cost savings.

By the end of the internship, the intern should be able to independently support routine marketplace, listing, sample, and syndication activities; maintain clear and accurate status information; proactively identify and communicate issues; and contribute useful reporting and process improvements for the Mass Retail team.
