Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: 

  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices. 
  • Promote/upsell Spa services. 
  • Evaluate the condition of guests’ therapeutic body needs and advise them on suitable solutions and recommendations. 
  • Sanitization of all professional instruments and equipment before each use. 
  • Ensuring that workstations and equipment are kept clean and orderly, and all supplies are adequately stocked. 
  • Build a client base through referrals and utilization of available promotional materials. 
  • Knowledge of features and benefits of professional and retail massage and body products. 
  • Participates in sales incentive programs. 
  • Enhance technical knowledge through continued training, courses, and education. 
  • Presents a professional, well-groomed appearance; provided uniforms must always be worn in the spa and must be laundered and pressed.  
  • Work effectively with team members, guests, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others. 
  • Learn the names and personally recognize guests and team members.  
  • Ensure individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to their needs and expectations. 
  • Actively participate in other areas of spa operations, massages, and body treatment, etc., product knowledge and retail sales. 
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shift, prompt with each appointment, and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service. 
  • Receive guests for their services on time and in a courteous and polite manner. 
  • Stock treatment room products, linens, and guest amenities. 
  • Disposal of garbage and used linens effectively, efficiently, in a timely manner and as instructed. 
  • Properly opens and closes each shift according to standard operating procedures; Properly cares for equipment and uses appropriate amounts of product to assist with cost controls. 
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures. 
  • Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of spa treatments, packages, services, treatment contraindications, facility features and hours of operation; Possesses complete knowledge and understands all services and products offered to actively promote services and promotions. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Company’s property and dedicated events on and near property to advise guests of the same, when possible. 
  • Respond to guest requests, complaints, or inquiries professionally, courteously, and promptly; Provides accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction. 
  • Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remains at assigned post for extended periods of time; Performs prep work, thoroughly cleans, and restocks room as required. Regularly attends and participates in and supports training and team member meetings for the Spa. 
  • Building and maintaining guest profiles to anticipate future needs and deliver superior service 
  • Assists with managing inventory responsibilities 
  • Adheres to all grooming standards as outlined by leadership. 
  • Assists in all areas of the spa operation as needed or requested. 
  • Ensure confidentiality with respect to guest information. 
  • Communicates to management all occurrences involving team members or guests in the spa that require attention. 
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a quality work environment. 
  • Adhere to AAA standards and policies. 
  • Attending all scheduled spa, resort, and departmental meetings. 
  • Demonstrate and exemplify Jamul Casino Resort’s core values (F.I.R.S.T.) daily, both internal and external Guests.   

Requirements / Qualifications / Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • 2+ years’ experience as a Massage Therapist is preferred 
  • 2+ years’ experience in Spa or Hospitality setting is required 
  • 1+ years’ experience with spa software (Book4Time, Booker, SpaSoft, etc.) 
  • Must possess CAMTC (California Massage Therapy Council) certification.  
  • Must have flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.  
  • High school diploma or equivalent  

Sign-On Bonus

  • Full-Time Massage Therapists: $500 sign-on bonus, paid as $250 upon hire and $250 after 90 days of employment.
  • Part-Time Massage Therapists: $300 sign-on bonus, paid as $150 upon hire and $150 after 90 days of employment.
  • Sign-on bonus payments are subject to continued employment and applicable company policies.
