Position: Massage Therapist
Department: Spa
Primary Responsibilities: (guest interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical responsibilities, etc.)
â¢Performs various types of localized and full body massages to guests
â¢Administers various hydrotherapy treatments and exfoliating services
â¢Ensures The Greenbrier experience
â¢Adheres to policies of the facility
â¢Reports any incidents or accidents to the Spa Director
â¢Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services
â¢Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place
â¢Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered
â¢Recommends products for home use with a minimum service to sales ration of 25%
â¢Performs all treatments on servicesâ menu based on current certifications
â¢Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa
â¢Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to the guests. Answers guestsâ questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner
â¢Begins and ends all treatments on time
â¢Works assigned schedule
â¢Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures
â¢Informs Spa Director of products needs
â¢Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate
â¢Completes all assigned side work
â¢Attends scheduled professional trainings
â¢Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily basis
Secondary Responsibilities:
â¢Attends Spa/departmental meetings as scheduled
â¢Completes other duties assigned by the Spa Director
â¢Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events
Normal Working Hours: (Shift, days)
â¢32-40 hours per week in season
â¢Staffing by seniority, requires availability on holidays and 7 day a week operation
â¢2 scheduled days off for full-time, days vary for part time
Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience, etc.)
â¢Previous massage experience preferred with exposure to hydrotherapy and exfoliation services
â¢Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests as well as the benefits of each
â¢Previous esthetician experience preferred
â¢Ability to lift 25 lbs
Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study)
â¢High School Diploma or G.E.D.
â¢Licensed in the state of WV
Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)
â¢Must be able to express information clearly and communicate in a personable and professional manner
â¢Customer service experience, preferably in a spa
â¢Excellent customer service skills and work ethic
â¢Excellent verbal and written skills
â¢Personable, pleasant and friendly attitude
â¢Willing and able to create a 5 star guest experience
Technical Requirements:
â¢CPR and Red Cross
â¢Use of proper body mechanics when performing services
Required Supervision: (Reports to, Supervision provided, number of people to supervise)
â¢Reports to Spa Director and Assistant Spa Director
â¢Willingness to follow suggestions of more senior co-workers
â¢Self motivated and able to assume responsibility to complete assignments
