Master Alloy - Chemical Process Operator 1st shift

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Master Alloy Chemical Process Operator to support the production of aerospace-grade master alloys through material preparation, mold setup, equipment operation, and finishing processes. This role is responsible for safely operating production equipment, handling raw materials, and supporting vacuum induction melting (VIM) and ingot finishing operations while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.

Shift: 1st shift, Monday-Friday 5:00a-1:00p

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare raw materials and molds for alloy production and melt campaigns.
• Build, repair, and tear out crucible and tundish assemblies.
• Prepare ingot molds and support casting operations.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on production equipment, including stripping presses, crop saws, abrasive saws, band saws, blast equipment, robotic cleaning cells, and laser marking systems.
• Complete forklift and overhead crane operations following required training and procedures.
• Verify material weights and organize materials for production runs.
• Follow process documentation, production requirements, and safety procedures.
• Complete production records and required documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ months of manufacturing, foundry, metal processing, chemical processing, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding work instructions.
• Ability to read and follow operating procedures, safety requirements, and production documentation.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and unit conversions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to complete forklift and overhead crane training.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow standard work practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience in foundry, alloy production, casting, melting, or metal processing operations.
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, saws, or industrial production equipment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance activities.
• Prior aerospace or precision manufacturing experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment with regular exposure to heat, moving equipment, fumes, airborne particles, and industrial processes.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and material handling throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required.
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
